DJ Grom - Exist in Sound Artist Interview

DJ GROM ARTIST INTERVIEW

Tell us about a project you worked on that you are especially proud of?

- My biggest project is my mix show "Club Atmosphere." I started when I was student, I came up with the idea and started recording episodes featuring the latest releases. The project was broadcast for a long time on several FM stations and online radio stations. This year, I decided to refresh the project and continue recording with new energy.

What's the biggest misconception about DJing and producing?

- The biggest misconception is that being a DJ is easy, just as recording music is. It's quite a substantial and complex process that requires a lot of patience and concentration. However, if you truly love what you do, then you will succeed.

How would you describe your music production style and genre?

- I currently produce in the Progressive Trance style.

What styles of music do you usually DJ?

- For a long time, I played House music in nightclubs. Although, I also love Trance very much.

As a DJ, analog or digital and why?

- I try to combine both digital and analog. Even when I release mix-shows, I have a digital track on the left deck and a vinyl turntable on the right. A DJ should feel the rhythm, hear the beat, and catch it.

What do you like most about music production?

- I really love melodies. Beautiful melodies captivate me.

How long have you been producing and DJing?

- I wrote my first track in 2001, and since then I release music depending on my inspiration. I started playing professionally as a DJ a little later.

What's your typical work process when producing a new track?

- I come up with a melody, then chords, then search for the right synthesizer sound, and then I work on the rhythm and beat.

Tell us about your studio setup.

- I have a small home studio. For music production, I use FL Studio and the Axiom49 MIDI keyboard. For DJing, I use Pioneer DDJ800 equipment and an Audio-Technica AT-LP140XP turntable.

Can you share one DJ tip?

- Less hype, more music :)

What other musicians or music producers inspire you?

- I follow both top artists like Armin, Aly & Fila, Richard Durand, as well as new in the industry like Omnia and Ahmed Helmy.

What are some upcoming events or projects you are excited about?

- I'm always interested in various open-air events.

Where can we find out more about your music and DJ schedule?

- The internet is the largest resource available to everyone. Just search for DJ Grom on Google, and you can find everything.
